Over 15 years of omega-3 experience

ArcticMed was founded by entrepreneur Mikael Marcko, who has more than 15 years of experience in the Nordic omega-3 industry.

As early as 2009 He founded Itogha Distribution AB, one of the early companies in the Nordic region working with the distribution of liquid omega-3 under the brand Oil4Life. The experiences from this time gave a deep understanding of both the opportunities and challenges in the industry.

In early 2012, Mikael Marcko founded Arctic Health AB, the company behind the ArcticMed brand. The vision was clear from the start: to create products based on natural raw materials, high quality, and full transparency about contents and analyses.

Inspired by research

ArcticMed’s philosophy has been inspired by research from the Norwegian Tromsø environment, where researchers like Professor Bjarne Østerud and Professor Edel O. Elvevoll have contributed to increased understanding of how omega-3 fatty acids and other beneficial fats can work together in the body.

Modern knowledge about omega-3 also builds on earlier research from pioneers like Professor Tom Saldeen and physician Olle Haglund, who early on helped spread knowledge about omega-3 and cardiovascular health in the Nordic region.

This scientific development has laid the foundation for many of the products and dietary recommendations used today in the omega-3 field.

What makes ArcticMed different

ArcticMed develops products based on a few simple but important principles:

Natural oils and raw materials

We use natural oils without concentrates.

Extra virgin olive oil (always laboratory tested and with an approved EFSA health claim that it helps protect LDL cholesterol from oxidative stress).

Our omega-3 oils are combined with high-quality extra virgin olive oil rich in polyphenols.

New products are developed with care for the end customer to increase safety, traceability, and satisfaction guarantee.

Transparency

We strive for full transparency regarding raw materials, analyses, and quality.
