Our DHA Test measures the amount of DHA in the blood. Studies show that 5% is the level that women should have during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Do you know your prenatal DHA level?

Once you know your prenatal DHA level, you can adjust your diet to safely change your level in as little as two to three months. The goal is to reach a prenatal DHA level of 5% or higher.

Taking ArcticMed Omega-3 Premium can get you up to 5% or more.

It is good to consume both the Omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA.

Why test your DHA levels?

DHA (or docosahexaenoic acid) is an omega-3 fatty acid found in fish, fish oil, and prenatal supplements that is an important nutrient for a healthy pregnancy. This test, which measures DHA in your blood, lets you know if you are getting enough of this important nutrient for both you and your baby.

For you, DHA is important because studies have shown that women with higher DHA levels in their blood are less likely to have premature birth. For your baby, DHA is important for the development of the brain, eyes and immune system.

It can be difficult to know if you have a good balance between omega-3 and omega-6. ArcticMed's test helps you find out with a simple blood test. The test is done like this:

  1. Order the test kit online – You will receive everything you need, including instructions, a lancet, and a return envelope.
  2. Collect the blood sample – By pricking your finger with the lancet, you fill a test card with a few drops of blood.
  3. Return the sample – Place the sample in the provided return envelope and send it to our laboratory.
  4. Get the analysis – After analysis, you will receive the results online. You will receive information about your Omega-3 Index and what the balance between omega-3 and omega-6 looks like in your body.

ArcticMed is a family-owned company

with a passion for health, quality and sustainability. Our journey began with a simple vision – to improve human and animal health by offering the best omega-3 oil on the market. We know that the right nutrition can make a big difference in everyday life, and we strive to deliver products that truly make a difference.

We only work with carefully selected, wild-caught fish from sustainable fisheries, and every step of our production is imbued with care for both our customers and the environment. Our omega-3 oils undergo advanced purification processes to ensure they are free of heavy metals and toxins, and we always package our oils in glass bottles to preserve their freshness and quality while minimizing plastic use.

For us, knowledge is as important as quality. That's why we're happy to share our expertise and offer tools that help our customers understand their needs – such as our Omega-3 Index test, which gives you a complete picture of your fatty acid balance.

We are proud to offer products that not only support your health, but also contribute to a more sustainable future. At ArcticMed, we combine science, nature and compassion to help you and your family feel their best.
